Tamper Proof Labels – Pronto!

A customer called looking for a fast turnaround on some tamper proof labels having been given unsatisfactory delivery times from competitors. To produce these labels, we would need a new cutter from our supplier, Kocher and Beck in Coalville. We know the lead times on cutters and the lead times on plates from any one of our three printing plate suppliers. The customer ordered the labels on a Monday. Before production, we ordered the cutter which was delivered on Wednesday morning. Plates arrived around the same time and we printed and shipped their tamper-proof labels. These were dispatched on Thursday and they received their tamper-proof labels on Friday. The customer was pleased with the quality and the fast delivery. They called to express their thanks. Due to our quick turnaround, they will now send us all of their label business which is around £10,000 worth of digital labels a year. When we did this job, we had our older digital press so elected to do the work all on the older technology flexo printers we have. Digital printing is now done on our Jetrion 4900 press. The press uses uv inkjet technology so we do not need to use printing plates – unlike the tamper-proof labels in the story. Inkjet works just as you would expect on your desktop printer. The press can print in full colour and has a white inkjet station so we can print fully coloured labels on clear materials by laying down white where the ink is required before printing the colours. The press includes a laser die cutting station which means we can cut out any label shape using the lasers – the is no need for rotary cutters nor the restrictions on label shapes or size associated with rotary cutters. For more information or to enquire if we can help you with tamper proof labels, call on 01332 864895. If you prefer us to call you, fill in the form below and we will get back to you.
