Label Direct version 4 to version 6 Upgrade
From August 2026, Image Computer Systems no longer support Label Direct version 4.15, meaning there will be no further upgrades and no further license activations or reactivations for version 4.15. SOLO products are unaffected, but Label Direct for SOLO is also, no longer being supported.
We can still support Label Direct license transfers of version 4.15 if
- they are completed within the 30-day trial window of the new installation
- the original licensed computer is accessible.
Important Notes
- Any license losses will require a Label Direct version upgrade.
- Any license transfers not completed within the 30-day trial time limit will require a Label Direct version upgrade
- The upgrade costs £80 + VAT

- You will need your License ID for us to process your license upgrade
- If you are a customer of Positive ID Labelling, we may have a record of your license if you first bought it from 2020 onwards
- If you bought your license before 2020, it is unlikely we will have a record of your license ID
- To find your license ID on your current computer (if it is still working), follow the instructions below and send your request:

- Open Label Direct for TSC (not Direct Print for TSC)
- Click Help
- Click About Label Direct
- A dialogue will appear with your Label Direct License ID shown

If you cannot find your License ID, you can call 013332 864895 and ask for Pete, who will try to help identify your original Label Direct version 4.5 license ID.
What happens next?
If you provided your Label Direct License ID:
Once we receive your upgrade request, we will contact the wholesaler and obtain an upgrade license for you. This will normally be completed on the day of the request (or the next working day).
If you have a credit account, this will be done without the need for you to pay in advance. You will receive an order confirmation from us, and an invoice will be sent to you for payment within 30 days.
We will email the new license data to you with instructions on how to upgrade the license on your computer.
If you did not provide the Label Direct License ID:
We will search our records to see if we have a record of your Label Direct License ID. In the event that you bought your license after 2020, it is likely but not guaranteed that we will have a record.
If you bought your license before 2020, it is unlikely we will have a record, and you will need to buy a full new license of Label Direct costing £219 + VAT.
We will contact you to obtain consent to buy the new Label Direct license before proceeding.
Upgrading Label Direct version 4 to Label Direct version 6
To upgrade your Label Direct software from version 4 to version 6, simply download the new version of Label Direct and use the License ID and Password we have provided.
- Download Label Direct version 6
- Execute the file and follow the on-screen prompts
- When presented with the option, choose to activate the software
- Use the new License ID (it may be the same as your original if provided) and password we provided in the email we sent you.
Once Label Direct version 6 is installed, simply open your old files that were used with Label Direct version 4.15 and test. If you are working on a new computer, simply copy your label files from the old PC to the new one, along with any images or databases.
