Number Labelling with a Numbeller

Whenever a customer approaches us here at Positive ID Labels needing to solve a number labelling problem, we get straight on the case! One very large carbonated drinks manufacturer, based in Ireland, came to us recently asking if we could try and help them out. They needed to batch products but with a differentiation in the batch number for each case of product – individual number labelling. This would help pinpoint what period of production on each shift was relevant should there be a quality control issue. Once they approached Positive ID Labels and explained their problem to us, we came up with a very quick, reliable, simple solution in the form of a consecutive numbering hand-held applicator and marking gun. As you can imagine, it could be very time consuming because there could be thousands of samples in each batch! Printed labels would not be much of an option but the numbeller works in the same way as a pricing gun. The lever action to dispense a label is used to crank the numbering element of the bands of the numbeller forward. This means an increment on one in the number for each and every label dispensed. This Numbeller solution allowed the customer to print the 5 fixed numbers (the batch no.) and also adds a consecutive number every time the trigger is pulled! Therefore on the first pull of the lever, the label would read the batch number and then 1, and the second time would read the batch number and 2 and so on and so on all the way up to the batch number and 9999! I am sure you can see how this would seriously reduce labelling times in the factory thuis solving the number labelling problem!
