Positive ID Labels Help Create Frozen Ready Meal Labelling Solution

Ready Meal Labelling is part of what we do and we aim to provide labelling solutions for a whole range of different problems faced by food companies. At the Farm Shop and Deli show (2013) we were able to demonstrate what we could offer to many different companies and show how our range of labelling systems can be altered to solve individual problems.

One company at the Farm Shop and Deli Show produce frozen ready meals and were looking for a labelling solution to help them save time and money when printing their range of 40 different meals. They were also looking for a system that would allow them to do seasonal specials and change their recipes whenever they chose too.

Prior to talking to us, one of the owners had been handwriting the ready meal labels! With the growth they were experiencing, this was unsustainable but they wanted to keep some of the handwritten feel with the ready meal labels.

We needed to create a system that printed frozen ready meal labels that can be altered without much time or effort but also incorporated a hand-written font.

We could not use fully pre-printed labels because it would be too expensive and difficult to work with for the size of the orders that the ready meal company were used to taking but we had just the thing.

Here at Positive ID Labels we offer a ready meal labelling system that includes a thermal label printer, labelling software that works with tables of data built in Excel (or other free spreadsheet or database software). We can even supply a pre-configured computer at ultra competitive prices for you too.

We used a thermal transfer printer because the label quality would not deteriorate in low temperatures and it is considerably cheaper than ink based prints for large orders.

We had the choice of using a bespoke handwritten font or an off-the-shelf font that looked like the owners (very pretty) handwriting. We went for the latter to save time and money.

A member of our staff arrived at the company in Bath and helped with the initial set-up and trained the staff on using the system.
