Flexographic Label Printing

Here at Positive ID Labels we have 7 flexographic label printing presses for labels allowing us the flexibility to be able to produce work economically by matching the type of work to be produced to the press range we have.

Most labels printed Worldwide are now printed with UV flexo inks. The inks are cured between each print station and the finished product are vibrant coloured labels which are of the highest quality. The UV flexo process is ideally suited to product labels, promotional labels, retail, personal care, food, beverage and horticulture labels.

Over the years we have invested heavily in our flexographic printing for labels equipment and recently acquired an MPS EB370 8 colour UV printing press. This brand new press incorporates cutting-edge technology to deliver the most outstanding print quality on longer label runs. Using so-called “process” CMYK printing, we can make any colour you like along with 4 spot colours or varnishes on the press. The press is 370mm wide and can run at over 100m per minute, keeping registration with sophisticated electronics and controls.

Flexographic Label Printing is fast and cost effective!

The flexographic printing process uses flexible plates wrapped around printing cylinders. The flexo process is ideal for printing high volumes of labels as the press can run at high speed. Whilst the printing plates and rotary die cutting cylinders are restricted in ways that digital printing is not, the cost-benefit in terms of time, means large label runs can be done at a fraction of the unit price of digitally printed labels. With shorter run lengths or where you have multiple types of labels, digital print technology comes into play.

To complement our MPS UV press we have an Edale Alpha 3 colour label press utilising water-based inks. This is ideal for colour-washed labels or simpler designs where a refined finish is not required.

Positive ID Labels have an extensive cutter library of over 1,000 various shapes and sizes. This means you can utilise any cutter we already own for your labels. Alternatively, if you need something very specific, we can buy the cutter made to your exact requirements.

We have produced plain and printed price gun labels for many years for our clients and trade customers on our 5 Mark Andy presses. 2 of them have fully automatic turret rewinders to reduce manual rewinding of the rolls and allow us to make millions of labels per day, finished on press.

To help with quicker turnaround on simpler jobs and on price gun labels we have our own flexographic plate making facilities and artwork studio. This allows us to process some jobs and have the plates in production within an hour of your order being placed.

We can manufacture and deliver your flexographic labels in most situations in less than 10 days from confirmation of artwork. Our average delivery time is 5 working days from confirmation of artwork and we are able to make exceptions for extremely urgent orders.
