Macfarlane Labels have recently worked with Yorkshire based company Seabrook Crisps to launch resealable food labels for their new range of hand-cooked crisps.
The packets can still be opened the conventional way but also can be opened via a resealable front to allow sharing and preserving of the crisps. Macfarlane Labels said “This ensures freshness and pack integrity whilst helping to prolong the life of the food product resulting in less food waste.”
Initially, this is being trialled on 40g packs of Seabrook Lattice Crisps (pictured).
Resealable food labels made on our digital press can be tested in small runs to see if they are a hit with your customers. Our digital press requires no printing plates nor any cutting equipment. The laser die cutting station can be used to test shapes by simply drawing the outline you require and printing the labels to shape. The lack of printing plates means you can change designs in the computer and print them immediately.
You save money on both printing plates and on time in the production cycle. The same can be said for dies too. Once the perfect solution is found, resealable food labels can be made in volume on our range of flexographic label presses.
Flexographic label presses will require tooling for printing plates and cutters but the experimentation phase of the product development is at minimal cost. All in all, this provides the ideal solution for product development and packaging experimentation for use with focus groups – this ensures manufacturers get the best return on investment on the product development cycle.

Last year Freezeland Ltd, a London based retailer of frozen products, contacted us regarding their labelling.
